Meetings:  Monthly meetings are held at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front Street, Traverse City on the third Saturday at 10:00 a.m. downstairs.

Tim Keenan will be representing Chapter 50 at the Veterans For Peace annual convention in Portland, Maine this coming week

According to a recent study comparing the monitary cost of war, the annual cost per warrior in WW II was $67,000, During Vietnam $132,000, and in Iraq and Afghanistan $1.1 million 
 

 
 
The John Lewis Scholarship award was awared to Joseph Blair at the June Chapter meeting at Horizon Books on Saturday, June 19,2010.  Joseph is a graduate of Kingsley High School and was captain of the track team.  He is planning on obtaining a degree in criminal justice.  Joe's other interests include football, wrestling, The Outdoor Adventure Club, 4H, and The Elder Project.

 The president and webmaster of Chapter 50 is trying to develope a current list of email addresses of members who want to be on the chapter's emailing list.  If you are interested in being on Chapter 50's email list, please send Don an email requesting your addition to the list and it will be added.
 
On July 15, 2010 Chapter 136 (Central Florida) re-submitted their resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack H. Obama for war Crimes for consideration at the national convention.  This resolution is available for review/signing via email at this time.  If you would like to receive it from our webmaster, please send an email to the webmaster (snod34@chartermi.net) and a copy will be sent to you.
